Computer Services
The Library has computers available for checking e-mail, typing up a document, doing research, browsing the web, or looking up a book online.
(The Library is closed Sundays from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend)
Computer UseFor our Internet policy, please consult the Library's Policy Manual. There are two express computers on the first floor that may be used for up to 15 minutes. They can be used for things like a quick check of your email or printing a boarding pass. No library card required. Computer ReservationsOur computers are equipped with reservation software. You must be in the building to reserve a computer.
PrintingPrinters for the public, both black-and-white and color, are available on both floors. Black-and-white printing is $.10 per page and color printing is $1 per page. Want to print from your laptop while you're in the library? Having problems with your printer at home? Are you on the road with no printer available? Remote printing to a library printer can solve your problem. Wireless NetworkAny laptop equipped with an 802.11b or 802.11g compatible wireless
ScanningThe Friends of the Homewood Library have purchased a cutting-edge touch-screen scanner that allows you to convert pages from books, documents, and color or black-and-white photos to PDF, Word, JPEG or HTML files. Scans saved as Word files are no longer mere “pictures,” but are transformed into editable files. You can email scanned files to any email address or save them to your USB drive. There is no charge for this service. More info.
Storage DevicesWhile we encourage you to bring your own storage devices, we do have some available for purchase at the Circulation Desk for your convenience. 1/2 GB (512 MB) thumb drive (USB drive, flash drive) ............$6 Thumb drives are the only storage devices our computers recognize. |
