Lunch and a Movie

The third Tuesday of every month, join us at noon for a big screen presentation of some of your favorite movies from the past. Feel free to bring a sack lunch--the Library will provide snacks, a dessert, and beverage.

May 18-- Heaven Can Wait (1943) Newly deceased playboy Henry Van Cleve arrives at the outer offices of Hades where he asks a bemused Satan for permission to enter the Gates of Hell. though the Devil doubts he would qualify, Henry proceeds to recount a lifetime of wooing and pursing women. Starts Don Ameche and Gene Tierney. (112 minutes)
June 15-- Three Coins in the Fountain (1954) Three American women visit Rome, and while there decide to throw money into a fountain and wish for love. Stars Clifton Webb and Dorothy McGwire. (102 minutes)
July 20-- Rally Round the Flag, Boys! (1958) Henry Bannerman is a normal, if not unhappy, guy. His only problem is a wife who is too busy looking after the community to look after the bedroom! Between the sultry neighbor next door and the Army deciding to build a missile station in town, Harry will have to get busy real fast if he is to save his town from becoming Ground Zero and keep his marriage on track. Stars Paul Newman, Joanne Woodward, and Joan Collins. (106 minutes)
August 17-- Key Largo (1948) A disillusioned returning World War II veteran has lost the will to fight...until he arrives at a rundown hotel in Key Largo. There, a mobster holes up against a raging storm, holding the veteran, the hotel owner, and the owner's widowed daughter-in-law at gunpoint. Stars Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall. (101 minutes)
