Reserve items from the Homewood Library, other libraries in the Metropolitan Library System, and also libraries outside of our system.

The Homewood Public Library is one of about 80 members of the Metropolitan Library System.

You may reserve items from other MLS libraries for pickup at Homewood Library within a matter of days (pending availability). To reserve items, go to the online SWAN catalog and use the search page to locate the item you wish to request.  From the displayed list of items that fit your search terms, click on the title of the item you wish to request and click the red request button. You then must enter your name, library barcode, and PIN number. If this is the first time you’ve used your account, you will need  to create a PIN number first. You will be notified when the item arrives at the library—by email if we have your email address is in your record, or by telephone..

Note: Some items cannot be reserved online and will prompt you with additional information if a restriction applies.

If an item is not available from with MLS, you may request items from outside the library system through the OCLC World Cat site.  For more information about our Interlibrary Loan Services, contact the Adult Services at (708) 798-0121.  Please have your library card ready when you call. This service is available to Homewood Public Library card holders only. Non HPL card holders, please contact your home library.
