Welcome to the Homewood Public Library’s email reference service. Please submit your name, your email address and your question using the form below. We will provide brief answers to specific questions or suggest resources available through the Library's catalog or the Internet.

AskAway Live Virtual Reference Service

Do you have a question that needs an immediate answer? With AskAway, you can get a quick, reliable answer from a librarian – anytime, day or night.

Visit AskAway at http://www.askawayillinois.info or by clicking on the AskAway button. Simply type in your question and you’ll be connected to a librarian who will answer your question right away. AskAway is a new service provided by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services and is administered by the State of Illinois Library.

Night Owl Reference Service

Calls made to the library after closing are forwarded to the Night Owl Reference service, a subscription service paid for by the Homewood Public Library. A librarian will be available to take your questions at the following times:

9:00 p.m. to midnight -- Monday through Friday
5:00 p.m. to midnight -- Saturday and Sunday

Night Owl librarians will answer homework, business, and general information questions, but because they are not on duty at the Homewood Public Library, they cannot tell whether a specific book is checked out or place holds on books. For your convenience, you can access your record and search the Library's catalog online.
